Channelling your inner Ice-Queen

When it’s sub-zero outside, dark by 4pm and torrential rain is forecast for the next week (at least), it’s hard to resist the desire to sloth about in a baggy jumper and tracksuit bottoms, in and outside your home.
After a while, this can make you feel a bit like a lounge-lizard, and as the old saying goes ‘when you look good, you feel good’, so the best way to shake off your internal sloth is by injecting some personality into your wardrobe again.
Here are a few tips to get you feeling fashionable again:
Invest in a bright bobble hat- 10% of your body heat escapes from your head, which might not sound like a lot, but when you’re dripping with rain and getting thrown about by 60mph winds, every little counts. Bring the ski style to the streets with a cheerful beanie. I’d recommend rainbow stripes, that way, at least one colour is likely to match your outfit.
Statement Coat- For those mornings when the drab weather matches your low mood and all you feel like wearing is grey and black to mourn the sun, a statement coat is all you need to jazz up your outfit. Whether it’s a long tan cocoon coat or a pink wool bomber jacket, add some chic to your day.
A silk skirt- Silk, a huge trend right now, might not be your material of choice during the winter months but why not give it a go? Match it with an oversized knit jumper and a pair of your favourite boots for a stylish change to those worn out trackies.
Layer it up- piling it on has never been more trendy, especially when remaining waterproof is an added bonus. A black roll neck can be paired with almost anything, and don’t de scared of clashing patterns- it’s the new way to wear prints.
After reading this, I hope you’re feeling a bit more inspired about your winter wardrobe. Anyway, whatever you wear, wear it with confidence and you’re bound to look like an ice-Queen.
